With the kids heading to camp in the next few weeks I’m thinking about some of the great weekend getaways I plan on taking this summer. Long weekends in Cape Cod, Miami and San Francisco might be doable, but quick jaunts to the Hamptons, the Berkshires, Bucks County and the Jersey Shore are definitely on my short list.
When in comes to figuring out what I’ll tote in my weekender, that’s easy. Clean-lined clothing that can be dressed up or down is the way I always swing, and when it comes to beauty I only take along travel-sized beauty goods so I’m never lugging heavy half-filled bottles. Here, some of my favorite 2017 travel-sized summer must-haves:
Ole Henriksen 3 Little Wonders Mini ($25) is a complete, albeit smaller sized, anti-aging regimen formulated with vitamin C, AHAs and antioxidants. The Truth Serum brightens, firms and protects. The Sheer Transformation Perfecting Moisturizer hydrates evens out your complexion and smoothes its texture, and the Invigorating Night Transformation Gel helps to further refine your skin. This trio is ideal for all skin types and works in tandem to address dull, uneven, lax skin.
Diptyque The Art of Bodycare Set ($50) delivers a sensory experience as it cleans, sloughs, softens and smoothes. Included in the set is a Smoothing Body Polish, Revitalizing Shower Gel, Fresh Lotion for the Body, and Luxurious Hand Balm.
Summer in Clinique Getaway Brights Kit ($21) has everything you need to make up like a minimalist. The Quickliner for Eyes Intense can be used to line your eyes or create a smoky lid thanks to the easy-to-use smudge tip. Also included is the much loved Chubby Lash Fattening Mascara to boost volume and the fun and fresh-toned Chubby Stick Intense Moisturizing Lip Color Balm in Plushest Punch.
Bobbi Brown Beach Rollerball ($25) holds my favorite summertime scent and I love the fact that I can get it in this perfectly portable rollerball. It blends jasmine, sea spray and mandarin notes for a light, fresh fragrance that you and anyone in your “inner circle of scent” will love.
Milk Makeup Hero Salve ($12) can be used on your lips, face, elbows, cuticles, or any areas suffering from dryness or irritation. Moisturizing oils and shea butter make up this soothing and hydrating salve.
IGK Jet Lag Invisible Dry Shampoo ($16), because who wants to waste precious weekend time washing and styling when you can be enjoying your time away instead. The fact that it cleans, conditions, protects and boosts volume and body without leaving any residue behind makes it a no-brainer and a must-have in every traveler’s bag. It’s formulated with Volcanic Ash to purify, Mango Fruit extract to soften, and Ginger Root Extract for incredible shine. Sprinkle it on and massage your scalp with your fingers to experience a cooling sensation as it cleans and a volume boost at the root area.
Amika Mighty Mini Jet Set Kit ($80) is for those who like to switch up their style. The kit comes with a mini hair dryer, styling tool and travel bag for a smooth, blown-out look or super straight, wavy or curly styles. The mini dryer boasts 1,000-watts, an airflow concentrator, diffuser, and tourmaline-infused components to minimize frizz. The Mini Styler is super lightweight at less than two pounds and has ceramic plates and high-temperature settings as well as interchangeable floating plates to help you get whatever look you’re going for.
