Mint. I absolutely love the taste and smell of this herb and keep it in my garden so that whenever the mood strikes I can add it to my water, tea or any dish that I’m preparing. You’ll love mint mixed with fresh cut pineapple, sprinkled on any salad and even blended into a chocolate cake recipe before baking, and if you’ve got a deadline looming or are feeling sluggish and unmotivated, nothing beats the quick pick-me-up you’ll get from breathing in fresh-cut or a mint-infused essential oil blend.

Mint is heavy on the health and wellness benefits, too. It’s a magic cure-all, used to combat everything from depression to fatigue to poor digestion and even headaches. I do use it year-round to lift my mood, soothe my spirit and give me a burst of energy, but I especially gravitate towards it in the warmer months when I get to reap the cooling benefits from applying it topically.

Here, some of my favorite ways to indulge:

Earth’s Nectar Mint Leaves Scalp Oil ($18.50) does wonders for your hair, scalp, nails, and skin thanks to an easily absorbable blend that includes peppermint, rosemary essential oil, sweet almond oil and jojoba oil. To reap the head-to-toe benefits, just massage this lightweight oil into your scalp to support blood flow circulation in the area, apply it to your hair and wrap it with a hot towel to soften and strength to your strands, and spray it on your hands, feet, and nails before massaging those areas.

Origins Hit Refresh Cooling Moisturizer with Hawaiian Mineral Water ($33) is an easy way to keep your cool (literally!) and reverse dull-looking, dry and dehydrated skin. The cream-gel formula is made up of an essential oil blend of wild mint, spearmint and eucalyptus to fully engage your senses, and Hawaiian mineral water that hydrates and replenishes lost minerals. You’ll love it after exercising or anytime you need a boost.

Clarins Instant Light Lip Comfort Oil in Mint ($26) is like a moisture bomb for your lips. Formulated with Field Mint Oil it will feel tingly cool and refreshing as it nourishes and makes your lips appear plump, healthy and younger-looking. You can slick it on and wear it alone, apply it as a primer before you apply your lipstick, or add it over your lipstick for a super shiny smile.

Belif Eucalyptus Herbal Extract Toner ($28) should be used twice a day immediately after cleansing. It combines Apple Mint and Eucalyptus to balance and soothe your skin, boost your complexion’s hydration and elasticity levels, minimize shine and soothe troubled skin. Simply moisten a cotton pad and sweep it across your face.

Marvis Strong Mint Mouthwash Concentrate ($22.50) leaves your mouth feeling minty fresh while it protects against bacteria, plaque, tooth decay and inflammation. It contains long-lasting peppermint, xylitol, and propolis to promote healthier teeth and gums and balance your mouth’s pH levels for an all-around healthier mouth and wonderfully fresh breath. Since it is highly concentrated a little goes a long way, so do dilute one part mouthwash with four parts water before using.

NOTE: All products were tested in store. Opinions are my own.
