Should my sunscreen go on before or after my moisturizer and foundation?
Many people are confused about the order of applying their skincare and make-up. Sunscreen always comes first before any other products – because for sunscreen to work the active ingredients need to be absorbed into the skin. In fact if you read the directions for the application of sunscreens it should tell you to apply 30 minutes before sun exposure to allow for absorption. I believe ” less is more ” and suggest you look for a moisturizing sunscreen thereby eliminating an extra product, less of a chance to clog pores. And for all those who think they don’t need a sunscreen because they use a make-up with an SPF, unless your make-up has been tested for its SPF, you cannot be sure that it actually meets the standard. Make-up is supposed to be applied only where you need it, which is better than nothing, but no substitute for a sunscreen
