BodyFactory Skin Care takes a unique approach to beauty and wellness, and with three Manhattan locations already, it’s fair to say that this nascent medspa is taking the Big Apple by storm.
While medspas are nothing new, BodyFactory Skin Care offers memberships in addition to one-off services. A monthly fee of $99 plus taxes buys you two facials per month (one full facial and a micro facial/booster treatment). It also locks in great prices on other services on the medspa menu, namely Botox, Juvéderm, Kybella, laser hair removal, CoolSculpting, chemical peels, microdermabrasion, HydraFacial MD and Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) injections, with more services being added on a regular basis. (All procedures are performed by registered nurses trained in aesthetics.)
The concept is similar to how gyms and group fitness studios operate, but BodyFactory lets members freeze their membership if they are traveling or need to take a time out from grooming. You say it’s your birthday? During your birthday month (yes, the whole month), BodyFactory membership truly has its privileges. You get a free 60-minute body treatment. Not too shabby.
It all sounded pretty good to us so when BodyFactory Skin Care offered Beauty in the Bag a complimentary facial, so we jumped at the chance.
After a consultation about my skin concerns (not many at the moment, thankfully), the aesthetician decided on a hybrid treatment that included a Hydrafacial along with a brightening booster and a facial massage, which was followed by a colloidal oatmeal and arnica soothing mask. Hydrafacials cleanse and hydrate skin via a painless vacuum-like device. The ZO Skin Health Brightalive Booster Serum then brightens skin for a full-on glow. BodyFactory Skin Care only offers Dermalogica products, and my facial was topped off with a blast of their newest launch, phyto-nature firming serum.
I left feeling pretty good about my glowy complexion.
Too bad I was just headed home.
