I’m not a big fan of flying, but like most people I grin and bear it so I can sightsee and experience different cultures around the world. Though at times it’s been known to cause me some anxiety, once I’m up in the air it is nice to relax, read a book or watch a movie and know that in a relatively short amount of time I’ll be in a completely different environment. Of course upon arrival, I usually want to drop my bags and head out immediately to start my vacay, but I can’t always count on arriving looking my refreshed best.

These tips and portable product picks can make a huge difference in how you look when you arrive.

  • Humidity is extremely low during air travel and will leave your skin dull and dehydrated if you’re not proactive. Upon boarding, cleanse your face with a facial wipe and apply moisturizer and lip balm to damp skin and lips. Reapply hourly or more often if needed.
  • I always crave sodium rich tomato juice when I’m flying — I never drink it otherwise — but, if you want to avoid puffiness steer clear of all salty drinks and food and sip H20 your entire flight. Drinking more water than usual instead of dehydrating alcohol, caffeine or sodium rich drinks will help keep you hydrated and prevent swelling.
  • Before arriving at your destination, use a facial wipe to cleanse your entire face again. Then, add tinted moisturizer, mascara, cream blush and tinted lip balm or lip gloss for a fresh-faced and ready-to-go-anywhere, lovely look.
