When Dr. Jessica Wu talks, it’s worth the listen. She’s a board- certified cosmetic dermatologist with a private practice in Los Angeles, California, the best-selling author of “Feed Your Face,” and has successfully launched 3 skincare lines. She’s also conducted clinical trials on topical and injectable cosmetic treatments and has been featured on “Good Morning America,” “Fox News,” “Entertainment Tonight,” and has even co-hosted episodes of “The Doctors”.

For a youthful-looking, radiant complexion, Dr. Wu recommends you:

EXFOLIATE TWICE A WEEK. Many of my patients in their 20s and 30s still struggle with adult acne, plus their skin starts looking dull. Exfoliate weekly to help unclog pores and reveal more glowy skin.

STOP DRINKING FROM STRAWS. Puckering your lips around a straw will eventually lead to wrinkles above the upper lip, and it makes your lipstick bleed. The same goes for smoking, whistling, and drinking from to-go cups (take the lid off first).

START USING A VITAMIN C SERUM. Your skin needs vitamin C to build strong collagen and elastic tissue to keep it firm, and starting now will help you hang on to the collagen you already have. I recommend a serum because it’s water-based, so it’s fine to use if you have oily or acne-prone skin.

SLEEP ON YOUR BACK (OR AT LEAST A SILK PILLOWCASE). You know those sleep creases you wake up with? Over time, they take longer to go away, and may eventually turn into permanent wrinkles. Sleeping on your back will prevent your face from getting squished all night long. And a silk pillowcase reduces friction if you do end up on your face. It’s also gentler on the hair, which gets thinner and fragile as we get older.

Dr. Wu recommends the following products from the new Robin McGraw Revelation line:

Robin McGraw Polish to Perfection ($24) contains Ecuadorian Ivory Seed powder so it buffs off dead skin cells gently and thoroughly to encourage a healthy glow. It’s also formulated with Japanese Free Tea Extract and Sweet Almond Oil so it has antioxidant and anti-inflammatory benefits, and it infuses your skin with high levels of essential fatty acids. Use it twice a week to boost collagen and diminish the look of fine lines, wrinkles, and enlarged pores.

Robin McGraw Revelation Vita Boost Vitamin Infusion Serum ($62) has 20% Vitamin C — the highest concentration available in a skincare product — to minimize hyperpigmentation and age spots and help your complexion find its healthy glow. It’s also formulated with Vitamin B5 for its moisturizing, anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory benefits, and Vitamin E for its antioxidant and skin healing properties.

You’ll also like these BITB-approved options:

Tatcha Polished Gentle Rice Enzyme Powder ($65) uses Japanese Rice Bran to smooth, soothe and protect, Papaya Extract to slough and soften and a proprietary blend of nourishing, protective green tea and okinawa red algae to nourish. To use, apply to wet hands and rub them together before massaging onto your face and rinsing well to buff away dullness and dead skin cells.

NuFace Lifter Vitamin C & Hyaluronic Acid Serum ($84) protects and repairs thanks to a potent formula that blends Vitamin C to support collagen, Sodium Hyaluronic to aid in the absorption of that vitamin C as well as boost skin’s hydration levels, and Glycolic Acid to smooth texture and minimize the appearance of skin discolorations, wrinkles and acne scarring.

NOTE: The Robin McGraw Revelation products were sent complimentary for review. All others were tested in store. Opinions are my own.
