THE POLISH WITH THE GOLDEN TOUCH
Move over Goldfinger, there’s a new golden one in town and it sparkles. The Man with the Golden Gun ($30) is an 18-karat gold leaf top coat from OPI that hits shelves in October, just in time to celebrate the November release of Skyfall, the 23rd installment in the James Bond series.
The gold top coat is part of OPI’s celebration of the James Bond Golden Anniversary—that’s 50 years of flicks starting with Dr. No in 1962. In tribute, the nail color company will release a special Skyfall Collection that comprises 12 colors ($8.50 each) with apropos names like “The Spy Who Loved Me,†a dark red hue, “Live and Let Die,†a nearly black shade, and “The Living Daylights,†a gold, blue and red confetti polish.
The movie Skyfall stars Daniel Craig and Javier Barden and opens on November 9. The polish shade called “Skyfall†is a maroon, chocolate color.
“From the first Bond film to the soon to be released Skyfall, Bond Girls have adorned themselves with gold accessories from jewelry and heels to clutches. This top coat’s radiant hue and stunning 19-karat gold leaf texture and patterns take accessorizing this holiday season to new heights,†stated Suzi Weiss-Fischmann, OPI executive VP and artistic director. The Man with the Golden Gun top coat can be applied over dry painted nails or worn alone for more subtle bling.
The Skyfall Collection is a limited edition that is sure to add a touch of glamour, intrigue and luxury to the holiday season. With so many choices, there is definitely something—James Bond fan or not—for everyone. Just remember to order your martinis shaken, not stirred.
