6 NEW MASCARAS FOR FLUTTERY LASHES
Whether you want lashes to be big and bold or long and defined, there is a mascara out there for you. We chatted with LA-based makeup artist Sage Maitri — who works with celebrity clients Judy Greer and Jessica Capshaw — on different wands and formulas. Maitri’s pro tip for fuller-looking lashes: “I always concentrate on the root of the lash, using little circular motions. Then I work the wand from root to tip for the last few strokes. This allows the tips of lashes to remain wispy and not clumpy.â€

L’Oréal Voluminous® Butterfly Intenza™ ($9) -– “Plastic wands are great for coating and separating," says Maitri. This has a double wing, flexible bristle brush that yields major volume and stretches each lash outward for eye-catching fringe.
Marc Jacobs O!Mega Lash Volumizing Mascara ($26) -– A combination of two brushes, one to separate and coat each lash, and the other for adding curl and volume, adds big impact to skimpy lashes with zero clumps and the formula lasts all day. “I prefer brushes in volumizing formulas as they are more full,†says Maitri.
Perricone MD No Mascara Mascara ($30) -- Perfect for daytime, this fringe booster gives a long and defined look with one universal color that works well for all skin tones, containing neuropeptides and biotin to nourish and strengthen lashes.
Avon Big & Daring Volume Mascara ($9) -- A full curved bristle brush creates volume, curl, and separation in just one coat. “Full brushes are great for feathery-looking lashes,†says Maitri.
Urban Decay Perversion Mascara ($22) -- With one swipe of this creamy dark black formula, my lashes were transformed into high-drama fringe. The buildable formula contains proteins and amino acids to promote lash growth and you can apply it in the morning and reapply later in the evening without any clumps.
Lancôme Grandiose Mascara ($32) -- The swan-neck bent wand makes for easy application and the plastic bristles grip each lash from root to tip to separate, volumize, and lengthen, while rose cell extract nourishes lashes.
