#LASHGOALS – MY LATISSE JOURNEY

My LATISSE (bimatoprost ophthalmic solution) 0.03% journey started when it was first launched, all the way back in 2008 when the drug received FDA clearance. Rarely does anything work as predictably and fast as Latisse did for me! I was beyond thrilled. But the challenge was that my eyes were definitely a little more sensitive from regular use, so I ultimately had to taper off.
According to the studies, Latisse lengthens, thickens and darkens eyelashes and it does so predictably. Like the hair on your head, lashes tend to sprout, grow for a while and then eventually fall out. OK, I’m Hooked!
If you have already red my earlier features on BITB, LATISSE DIARY PART ONE and LATISSE DIARY PART TWO, you will note that I was a skeptic at first. I am now totally into the Latisse thing and loving my long, lush lashes.
I have picked up a few tricks along the way that I want to share:
Get your own brush – I found a skinny eyeliner brush that limits waste and gets the drug exactly at the lash line where you want it. This cuts down on irritation and the chance of hyperpigmentation
Use your cap – Unscrew the cap, hold it pointy side down, and squeeze the few drops you need for each application into the cap. D
THE LURE OF LATISSE
For those of you who have been living under a rock for the past few months, Latisse is the new FDA approved lash enhancing drug. It is the first cousin of a drug called Lumigan from Allergan, the makers of BOTOX, that has been used to treat glaucoma and was discovered to cause eyelashes to grow thicker, longer, lusher and darker.
