With tons of shows during New York’s Fashion Week, it’s hard to pinpoint makeup trends because they can be all over the place: designers don’t really share their trade secrets, and often, makeup artists are given just minutes to decide which look would BE best for the overall show. But as always, there were a few well-marked makeup and nail motifs particular to the 2014 Fall/Winter shows. Here are a few standouts.

It’s hard to believe that New York Fashion Week, which wraps up on September 12, is all about Spring/Summer 2014 fashion and beauty trends. While that season may seem like a lifetime away, it’s obviously never too early to start thinking about trends, and what not to wear.
After purveying the shows and schmoozing backstage, here are some of my fave beauty trends you’ll spy next year:
NUDE LIPS AND LUMINOUS SKIN

GREAT LASH CELEBRATES 40th BIRTHDAY WITH LIMITED EDITIONS
One of my favorite products is celebrating its big 4-0. It’s Maybelline New York Great Lash Mascara, the cannon for all mascaras, as far as I’m concerned. In honor of the anniversary, Maybelline partnered with three fashion designers – Max Azria, Tracy Reese and Vivienne Tam – to create a limited-edition collection. The collaboration is a natural fit as Maybelline is the official cosmetic sponsor of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week, which is taking place next month.
