ESTEE LAUDER NUTRITIOUS Vita-Mineral Makeup SPF 10 – I had just made it through security at JFK and realized that I forgot to pack my foundation! Luckily Duty Free was on my way to the Admiral’s Club and even though I wasn’t flying internationally, I could still take advantage of the convenience of last minute shopping at full price. As you know, selection isn’t always sublime at airports and they seem to always be out of stock of the most popular brands and shades. So the only portable foundation that I could find that was TSA friendly was Nutritious. It comes in a flat tube that is easily portable, and although I would have preferred an SPF15 of higher, beggars can’t be choosers and I wasn’t going anywhere too sunny on this trip. With only 6 shades to choose from, I was left with one shade that could work for my fair skin and it was in stock, so I went for it. I honestly wasn’t expecting much because this was an impulse buy without much thought, but I was pleasantly surprised. My skin took on a healthy, natural glow and the natural radiance shined through. It is light enough to be weightless, but offers decent coverage and skin fortifying properties including vitamins E, C and antioxidants. Mineral makeups have been around for ages, and only recently, big brands have picked up on their popularity. Leave it to EL to get it right!
FINAL VERDICT – RDW (Run Dont Walk) – For non makeup wearers who want something in between a tinted moisturizer and a full blown foundation, this is a great choice for $33.50. It’s light, dewy and natural looking, and easy to apply even for novices.
