Everyone knows that summer is all about simplifying and in the world of beauty that might mean going bare-faced, letting your hair do its own thing, and having a more relaxed attitude about your skincare regimen.
When the steamy season rolls around I have to admit that I take a less structured approach myself but I do still want to look and feel my best, as I’m sure you do, too. That’s exactly where these little beauties come in:
Brush On Block Broad Spectrum SPF 30 ($32) protects your skin from the sun’s harmful rays in an easy-to-apply, portable way. I was hooked on the Original formula for its invisible, full-coverage protection and I love it because I can reapply my protection without screwing up my makeup. I also recently tried the new Touch of Tan and will be using it all summer long for the same level of protection plus a warm, sun-kissed glow. Both are safe for those with sensitive skin, can be used on the scalp and part lines, and are sweat and water resistant for up to 80 minutes.
Wander Beauty Beach Balm in Sangria ($22), a berry-tinted, universally flattering balm with buildable color, is the perfect summer stick to brighten and beautify your cheeks and your lips. You’ll especially like the fact that no matter how steamy and sticky it is outside, this balm stays put. It boosts hydration, gives you continuous moisture throughout the day and has micro-fine pigments that add dimension to your lips and give your cheeks a more youthful look. Your skin will also appreciate the skin-loving prickly pear extract, shea butter, vitamins C and E and chamomile extracts to boost collagen production and give you antioxidant, antibacterial and anti-inflammatory benefits.
Virtue Correct The Polish UnFrizz Cream ($40) will soften and smooth your hair while it locks out humidity, barring frizz. It is formulated with Alpha Keratin 60ku, which is identical to the keratin in your hair, skin, and nails, so it heals and repairs strands. Pink Pomelo is included to revitalize, Phospholipids will fight frizz and Gotu Kola aims to strengthen and add lustre. To use, apply to clean, damp hair from root to ends and blow dry it smooth or allow it air dry.
SK-II Facial Treatment Mask ($135 for 10 masks), powered by Pitera, blends vitamins, amino acids, minerals, and organic acids that work synergistically to hydrate, boost skin function and add radiance. It replenishes dehydrated skin so it immediately feels refreshed and looks healthier.
Sephora Collection Moisturizing & Refreshing Body Jelly ($17) absorbs quickly to hydrate and soothe your skin fast. It also cools on contact thanks to its water-rich aloe vera-based formula, and cactus extract keeps skin soft and supple.
Clean Eau Fraiche Rain & Pear Body Splash ($48) is part of the recently launched Clean Eau Fraiche line that includes six body splashes. This one reimagines that wonderful scent in the air right before a summer storm releases fat droplets of rain. It includes notes of guava, pear, melon, violet leaves, vetiver and creamy musk for an earthy, sweet, citrusy scent you’ll love.
NOTE: Virtue Correct, Clean Eau Fraiche and Wander Beauty Beach Balm were sent for review. All other beauty products were tested in store. Opinions are my own.
