REACH FOR PEACH: 5 WAYS TO GET YOUR FILL
August is #NationalPeachMonth and if you haven’t already started enjoying your fair share of fresh, juicy sweet peaches now is your chance. They’re delicious in cobblers, pies, and right off the grill when paired with fresh whipped cream, but my favorite way to indulge is when they’re straight from the farmer’s market.
Besides their yummy scrumptiousness, there’s more to love about peaches. Studies have shown that stone fruits can actually help ward off health related conditions like diabetes, cardiovascular disease, obesity and cancer, and they have anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties too. Peaches are chock full of vitamin C so whether they’re ingested or applied topically from products, they can actually help reduce wrinkles, improve skin texture, boost collagen and prevent environmental damage. If that’s not enough to get you hooked, take a good look at the color peach. It’s universally flattering and the sexiest makeup shade for summer.
Check out these peachy keen beauties:
Krigler Mediterranean Peach 15 ($355) will boost your mood with just one whiff of this gorgeous perfume. It blends the natural essence of the mediterranean peach of St. Tropez with fresh florals, peach zest and dew fruit for a sparkling sweet, energetic, mood elevating, summery aroma that you’ll want to wear year-round.
Peter Thomas Roth Anti-Aging Cleansing Gel ($38) will bring you one step closer to a peaches and cream complexion. It’s suited for all complexions but if your skin is normal, dry or sun damaged, start out using it only 2-3 times per week and work up from there as your skin tolerates it. This cleanser is formulated with Glycolic and Salicylic acids to exfoliate and renew your complexion, peach and citrus fruit extracts to brighten and other radiance-boosting and skin soothing ingredients.
Fresh Rice Sake Bath ($82) was inspired by the Japanese ritual of fragranced baths using actual peaches. This therapeutic soak takes it one step further by combining peach fruit extract with sake which has hydrating and smoothing enzymes, pine extract to boost easy breathing and ginger for its relaxing properties. Pour into running bath water and soak for 10 minute or more before rinsing your body under a cool shower spray sans soap and patting dry.
Givenchy Gelée D’Interdit Smoothing Gloss Balm Crystal Shine in Elegant Nude ($32), the hybrid lip smoothing and plumping gloss balm in the perfect shade of peach — a peach-ish nude shade with peach-toned shimmer. Active ingredients that make it happen are dehydrated hyaluronic microspheres to help build up fine lip lines and increase volume, vegetal extract to revitalize and smooth and Cameline oil for added comfort and a boost in hydration.
Lauren B. Beauty Nail Polish in Coral Canyon ($18) pairs perfectly with your summer tan. Paint all 10 digits or your toes with this chip-resistant, long-lasting, quick-drying, eco and vegan-friendly formula that was inspired the pink and orange Malibu sunsets.
