I adore chocolates and champagne as much as the next woman but it might be nice to indulge without all the “day after” regret. Oh, who am I kidding!  Chocolates, champagne and some beauty bounty are what was on every beauty girl’s wish list this Valentine’s Day.

If you’re looking for some inspiration to keep the romance going, here are some of the best beauty gifts to give, get and love:

If your special night includes a wonderfully decadent meal and you find yourself with leftovers, add a beauty treatment or two onto your evening plans. Dermatologist, Marina Peredo, M.D., F.A.A.D and founder of Spatique Medical Spa in Smithtown, N.Y. says, “If you have a little champagne and caviar left over from your big night, there’s no need to toss it.” Here, her unusual but effective treatment ideas on what to do with the goods:

Left-over champagne can be used as a toner. Peredo says “champagne detoxifies the skin with antioxidants and lightening Tartaric Acid helps even out the skin tone.” It also has antibacterial properties to help prevent breakouts. After washing your face, soak a cotton ball with the leftover champagne and swipe  it all over your face, neck and décolleté, avoiding the eye area. As your skin absorbs it, it will leave your skin tight, firm and glowing. *People with very sensitive or dry skin should do a patch test on a small, non-visible area of the neck or hands first.

Peredo likes caviar “because it’s rich in Amino Acids, Phospholipids and is full of Vitamins A, D, B1, B 2 and B6 and its structure is similar to human skin cells so it has the ability to speed up the natural production of collagen.” To firm, smooth, hydrate and rejuvenate the skin make a mask with the left-overs by applying to the face, neck and décolleté. After 30 minutes, rinse off with lukewarm water.
