MAYBELLINE NEW YORK SIGNS FRIDA GUSTAVSSON
Maybelline New York goes haute with its newest spokesmodel. Swedish supermodel Friday Gustavsson was just signed with the iconic American makeup brand, which is part of French beauty giant L’Oreal. Frida joins a rooster of other American and international models that represent Maybelline, including Christy Turlington, Julia Stegner, Kemp Muhl and Shu-Pei Qin.
While not a native New Yorker, Frida definitely relates to the aura of the iconic American brand. “A Maybelline New York woman is strong and confident—I love that attitude,†she stated.
The Stokholm native began her modeling career in 2009, when she opened the Valentino Haute Couture show in Paris. That breakthrough moment lead her way to working with Marc Jacobs, Chanel, Prada, Louis Vuitton, Christian Dior, Michael Kors, Viktor and Rolf, and many, many other designers.
If you are a fashion magazine lover, you probably have seen Friday ignite the pages of Vogue, Elle, Allure, Interview, and more in editorial features and ads for more major design houses. Maybelline New York is her latest advertising campaign. Frida’s energy and spirit will now represent the beauty brand in print and television ads beginning in late 2013.
“In addition to her stunning career on the fashion runways, Friday’s radiant beauty and positive energy are very inspirational. Her warm and optimistic personality perfectly embodies the Maybelline New York woman of today,†stated Damien Bertrand, global brand president, Maybelline New York.
