LOWENBERG, LITUCHY & KANTOR CELEBRATE 25 YEARS OF SMILES
The Ainsworth Park in the heart of Gramercy Park was buzzing for the 25th anniversary celebration of a team of rockstar cosmetic dentists known as Lowenberg, Lituchy and Kantor, or LLK.
The guests as well as hosts were five star. Uber dermatologist Fredric Brandt attracted a crowd of fans. Facial plastic surgeon Norman Pastorek and his wife Janice Pastorek, rhinoplasty specialist Richard Westreich, and oral surgeon Harrison Chen, also joined the group. Celebrity guests included Martha Stewart, Rocco Dispirito, and Marina Abramović—all on hand to celebrate this special milestone. LLK’s loyal fans came from the upper east side, the Hamptons, and across the country to share the moment with them.
Many of the guests were seen taking pictures in an onsite photobooth, surrounded by a photo wall of dazzling LLK smiles. I tried to find my own mouth on the wall of smiles, but didn’t spot it, although I did partake in the LLK veneer experience about a decade ago. Today, I am very proud to call them my family dentists.
When not taking photos, guests indulged in the beverage of the evening, a signature cocktail created just for the night called “The Temperance,†made with Peach Ciroc Moet, cranberry juice, and lime. They also enjoyed delish hors d’oeuvres including tuna tartar, short rib sliders, and lobster spring rolls.
Lowenberg, Lituchy and Kantor are indisputably among the best in their field. Just as plastic surgeons mold soft tissues and alter the bone structure to rejuvenate the face, they have the ability to give you the smile you once had, or the one you wish you were born with. The work that these guys do every day in their chairs is transformational. From an aesthetic perspective, a beautiful smile can be achieved with the advances of modern technology that were not available when Marc Lowenberg and Gregg Lituchy started their private practice in the 1970s with one little room on New York’s Central Park South. Brian Kantor, the newest member of the LLK team, joined them in 2002. Fast forward to 2014 and cosmetic dentistry has certainly come a long way.
LLK’s image-conscious patients demand the best, and they are perfectionists at what they do. The beauties who grace the covers of magazines and saunter down the red carpet may have had a little help from this talented cosmetic dental trio. Don’t be surprised to sit in their waiting room and rub elbows with A-list actors, supermodels, and Oscar winners.
If your goal is a true smile makeover, the most effective long-term method is with expertly-shaped porcelain veneers or porcelain laminates, which are their specialty. Thin layers of fine porcelain are fitted to improve the color, shape, and alignment of your teeth in as little as two office visits. The main advantages of porcelain veneers are the strength and beauty of porcelain, which due to its translucent qualities, gives a life-like natural appearance. People seek them out from all over the world for the natural look they are known for. As Lowenberg says, “Porcelain veneers are the Rolls Royce of cosmetic dentistry.”
In 25 years, they have been named “Beauty’s Best Dentists†by New York Magazine, and listed as America’s top cosmetic dentists by More, Town and Country, and Allure. They have also been featured in numerous magazines and newspapers in the US and UK, including Allure, London Evening Standard, InStyle, W, Town and Country, Glamour, Self, Hamptons Magazine, GQ, Us Weekly, Bazaar, Teen People, Marie Claire, Cosmopolitan, Time Out, the Daily News, the New York Times, The Observer, Tatler, Time Out, More, Departures, and more. They have been regular guests on The View, Live with Regis and Kelly, Good Morning America, E Fashion Emergency, CBS News, and ABC’s Extreme Makeover.
So what’s next for these Sultans of Smiles? Despite all of their fame, family still comes first. Lowenberg is enjoying his beautiful grandchildren, Lituchy’s oldest son is currently in dental school and will soon be the next addition to LLK, and Kantor has two growing kids of his own.
