Is winter weather wreaking havoc on your lips? If so, you’re not alone… A lack of oil glands in this delicate area is to blame for dryness and cracking, and cold temperatures and dry air indoors and out only make matters worse. The good news is, you can replenish much-needed moisture, smooth the flaking and pucker up comfortably with products that do all this—and more!
GlamGlow PoutMud Wet Lip Balm Tint ($19)
Get hydrated, rejuvenated subtly-tinted lips with this lip balm/lip color hybrid. Available in six hues that span the spectrum from pink to purple (with nude, peach and red in between), this treatment offers buildable color that stays put longer than most other tinted balms. The non-sticky formula has a fresh mint flavor and the silver sphere-shaped pot is oh-so-chic.
Glossier Flavored Balm Dotcom in Cherry ($12)
Though it’s hard to play favorites when it comes to Glossier’s Balm Dotcoms, if you long for cherry ChapStick without the waxy feel, consider this your souped-up stand-in. Serving up skin-softening emollients, protective antioxidants and just the amount of color you need to look polished yet unfussy, the best part of this balm is that it can be used virtually anywhere. From dry patches to jagged cuticles (and even to soothe irritation), this balm is the bomb.
Dior Addict Lip Glow Pomade ($33)
With the hydration of an oil, the lightweight texture of a gel and custom color dictated by your lips’ unique pH, the latest addition to Dior’s Lip Glow family doesn’t disappoint. Featuring a mess-free applicator for no sticky fingers and more shine than the original stock-based balm, this treatment can also be used as an overnight mask for soft, pillowy, kissable lips come morning.
Fresh Sugar Sport Treatment Sunscreen SPF 30 ($25)
The lips are particularly prone to skin cancer, which is why everyone (and we mean everyone) needs a balm with SPF. This treatment is tops because it offers SPF 30 in a hydrating, water-resistant, antioxidant-rich formula—and it can also be used on the face and around the eyes if you’re in a sun-protection pinch.
Tatcha Camellia Nourishing Lip Balm ($36)
As far as lip balms are concerned, this one is as good as gold—literally. Infused with intensely hydrating camellia oil and squalene and topped with 24-karat gold leaf for a hint of gilded shimmer, this luxurious treatment is almost too pretty to use.
It Cosmetics Je Ne Sais Quoi Lip Treatment ($24)
Who says you need an actual lipstick for long-lasting color? With this multitasking treatment, you get a your-lips-but-better tint courtesy of pigments that respond to the warmth of your skin, hydrating butters and oils, protective antioxidants and lip-plumping hyaluronic acid filling spheres. All we can say is, “Oui!”
