INTO THE DEEP WITH DAVIDOFF COOL WATER
Coty Inc., which markets some of our favorite fragrances from Chloé, Calvin Klein, Sarah Jessica Parker and many more, has entered a new partnership with the National Geographic Society to protect and save the world’s oceans. The global beauty giant has just identified the Davidoff Cool Water fragrance brand as a partner with the society’s Pristine Seas program.
The Pristine Seas program is an exploration, research, and conservation project that aims to find, survey, and help protect the last healthy, undisturbed places in the ocean. It studies how marine ecosystems work in order to help healthy reefs thrive, help unhealthy reefs recover and better preserve the ocean. The ocean covers 72% of the earth’s surface, yet remarkably only 1% of that is protected.
The Coty partnership kicks off with an expedition to the Pitcairn Islands in the Pacific Ocean, which will be lead by Dr. Enric Sala, a marine ecologist and National Geographic Explorer-in-Residence, who seeks to find ways to mitigate human impact on marine life.
The Pitcairn expedition will start in March 2012. The new face of Davidoff Cool Water, actor Paul Walker, will be strongly supporting the initiative over course of the partnership. “My first love, my first passion was the ocean, so I completely relate to the cause of the ocean protection,†stated Mr. Walker.
