HOW WE DO WINTER BEAUTY

I’m obsessed with Guerlain Lingerie de Peau ($54). I have been using this elegant BB Cream for light coverage all over my face and neck and appreciate that it has broad spectrum SPF30. The light tone works perfectly for my skin, and it makes my complexion look younger and healthy. In super hot weather, I use a separate SPF on my bare skin first and carry the Lingerie de Peau in my purse to reapply as needed. The whole line is on my short list this season!

I may live in South Florida, but even a few days of chilly weather left my heels dry and cracked (no matter how recent my last pedicure). Since open-backed shoes are always in season here, I slather on Karité Shea Butter’s Creme Corps ($46) before slipping on a pair of toe-less cotton socks every night before bed. This cream is so rich and hydrating, it smells amazing, and I always have smooth, soft feet! Baby Foot treatments ($22) every other month definitely help, too!

It seems the best way to keep my skin moisturized and soft during this time of the year is by dry brushing at least 3 times a day and using a good moisturizer after the shower. My go-to for the past few years has been Creme de Corps by Kiehl’s ($48); it’s rich, non-greasy and hydrating.

Winter means dry skin, and in my house, dry skin means eczema flares for my two sons. We are uber-vigilant about using moisturizer after showering – making sure to apply it to damp skin to lock the moisture in. I love Avène XeraCalm A.D Lipid-Replenishing Balm ($33) and CeraVe® Itch Relief Moisturizing Cream ($20). We kick things up a notch for really inflamed patches, applying moisturizer and then wrapping the area in saran wrap, so it really seeps in. When this doesn’t work, we bring in the bigger guns –prescription topical steroids.

Charlotte Tilbury’s ‘Multi-Miracle Glow’ ($60) is my winter skin savior. This multi-tasker is a cream-to-oil cleanser, mask and remedy balm enriched with vitamins and floral extracts for glowing, baby-soft skin. I use Multi-Miracle Glow for a deep cleansing anti-aging wash. When dryness strikes, I use this cream as a 10-minute regenerating face mask and a repair balm for my elbows and heels. I can’t do winter without it.
