HOW DO YOU LIKE THEM APPLES?
Almost daily, I take a morning walk–sometimes run– to start the day right. It gets my blood pumping, allows me to check something off my to do list (that would be exercise) and no matter what the weather, I get to spend a little time in nature with my own thoughts and taking in the gorgeous scenery. Lately, said scenery has been bright-colored leaves adorning all the trees — bold reds, vibrant oranges and yellows, not unexpected but always spectacular. This kaleidoscope of color come to life is one of my favorite things about the Fall season. Another of my favorite Fall things? Apples everywhere!
No matter how you slice it, apples are awesome. They’re delicious and nutritious to eat, smell incredible when used in baked goods, lifestyle and beauty products, and the fruit’s beauty boosting benefits have been touted by experts when used topically. Dr. Carl Thornfeldt, Dermatologist and Founder of Epionce skincare recommends incorporating products with different botanicals — including apple extract — into your skincare regimen. In fact, the mighty apple’s extract and botanicals have been proven to have antioxidant and anti aging benefits. They’ve also been shown to tone and tighten skin, help hydrate, brighten and combat irritation.
Here, 5 ways to get your fix:
Lafco Cortland Apple Candle ($60) will make your room smell fresh and delicious. This crisp apple/green scented candle has a 90-hour clean burn and is made with natural essential oil-based fragrances that will envelop without overwhelming your senses. You’ll also love the gorgeous one-of-a-kind hand-blown art glass vessel that can be used long after the candle is gone.
dpHue Apple Cider Vinegar Hair Rinse ($35) can be used as a shampoo or conditioner thanks to ingredients such as apple cider vinegar, argan oil, aloe vera, fire tulip and lavender extract to cleanse scalp and hair, condition and tame, lock in color, strengthen strands with continued use, and leave hair super shiny. To use, create a few small parts in your damp hair using the bottle tip and gently squeeze the product onto your scalp. Then massage into hair and scalp, leaving on up to three minutes before rinsing thoroughly and styling as usual.
Drunk Elephant B Hydra Intensive Hydration Gel ($52) is an anti aging vitamin B5 gel that replenishes, brightens, and improves the appearance of skin texture and tone while delivering intense moisture. It can be applied your complexion, neck chest hands or anywhere else you need a boost of hydration. Apply it as is or mix it in with your favorite serum, cream or oil. Ideal for all skin types.
Epionce Intensive Nourishing Cream ($108) should be used on the face, neck and décolleté for an intense boost of hydration by day or as a mega-rich night cream to greatly improve photo-damaged, severely dry and aged skin. Soft-focus technology gives you an immediate payoff and apple extract plus other ingredients including Meadowfoam, Date Fruite and Onion Extracts work to nourish and improve your complexion over time.
Fresh Sugar Acai Age-Delay Body Cream ($67) is formulated to firm and tone your body thanks to high performing ingredients like sugar apple extract to enhance collagen production and improve intercellular cohesion, sweet almond protein to naturally firm, lift, and smooth the skin’s surface, açaà oil to hydrate, provide antioxidant protection and help maintain elasticity and AHAs in the form of sugar and citrus fruit acids to gently slough away dead, dull, dry skin cells.
