What’s not to love about green tea? From its potential to fight cancer and heart disease to lowering cholesterol, burning fat, fighting diabetes, preventing strokes, and staving off dementia, it’s difficult not to admire this multi-functioning drink, supplement, and ingredient. Green tea’s antioxidants, called catechins, search for DNA-damaging free radicals that could cause cancer and blood clots. And since green tea has minimal processing—its leaves are withered and steamed instead of fermented—the catechins are more concentrated. Consuming, and using, products with green tea are believed to help prevent acne, promote stronger and healthier hair, and leave your skin glowing. Here are a few of our favorite products from makeup to skincare that will give you that natural, healthy look all by going green.

You’ve heard of exfoliating your skin to promote cell turnover and healthy skin, but have you heard of exfoliating your lips? H.wood Tea Room, the LA-based tea house, has started its own line of tea-based, anti-oxidant rich products, including the Lip Tea Scrub ($20). These products are good enough to eat—literally. Produced with tea extracts—including green tea—as well as organic raw sugar, extra virgin coconut oil, raw honey, jojoba oil, shea butter, and vegetable grade glycerin, you can now enjoy the benefits of green tea and a good exfoliation on your lips, and when you’re done applying, you can lick off the excess. In eight different flavors including blood orange, champagne rose, pomrose, and coconut chai, these lip scrubs are good for your skin and good for your body! After your lips are exfoliated, dab on Amore Pacific Moisture Bound Lip Treatment ($35). Replenishing and binding hydration to lips for up to eight hours, this lip treatment restores your skin’s natural moisture barrier. Gel-textured, the formula delivers long-lasting nourishment and protection as well as naturally boosting circulation in your lips. Created with green tea seed oil extract, bamboo sap, and red ginseng, it features antioxidant minerals and amino acids to guard against UV and free-radical damage.

And because we love what Amore Pacific does with green tea seed extracts, we also wanted to include the Green Tea Treatment Oil ($195). This highly concentrated oil renews your complexion while restoring your skin’s radiance. The green tea extract works to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles and the lightweight formula absorbs easily to soften and nurture your skin.

Use the Amore Pacific Green Tea Treatment Oil after you wash your face. For cleansing, we love how mild Perricone MD Hypoallergenic Gentle Cleanser ($39) is for sensitive skin and even more that it gets the job done. Created with olive polyphenols and green tea extracts, this daily cleanser eliminates all impurities, including makeup, without stripping your skin of its natural oils. Non-detergent, this cleanser soothes and nourishes to leave skin refreshed.

Just because you’re sleeping doesn’t mean you still can’t squeeze a little green tea into your nighttime skincare routine. Murad Perfecting Night Cream ($49) is an intensive hydrating cream that rejuvenates and restores your skin over the course of the night. The cream is formulated with sunflower oil to increase skin elasticity and suppleness, vitamin A to promote healthy skin cell turnover, and green tea and vitamin E extracts to give your skin the antioxidants it needs. Massage evenly onto your face, neck, and chest every evening for optimal results.

And what is the perfect thing to use when you wake up and see dark circles and puffy eyes? Apivita Express Beauty Mask ($30). Featuring gingko bilboa to moisturize, soften, and tone sensitive skin, your skin is left youthful and radiant without looking like you only had three hours of sleep. Apivita’s Express Beauty line is formulated with a green tea infusion that replaces water to enhance and increase antioxidant benefits. Complete your green tea eye treatment with Dr. Brandt Lineless Eye Cream ($60), an antioxidant–rich treatment that fights the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Lightweight and moisturizing, this cream delivers vitamins C and E as well as green tea extracts to ward off signs of aging while providing hydration to the thin and delicate skin around your eyes.

And since this is Beauty in the Bag, we know our readers love a good beauty product or two. Available in six different shades, Fresh Face Luster ($45) provides light coverage foundation and finishing powder in a one pressed powder. Delivering a smooth and polished finish to your skin without sacrificing your own natural beauty, this easy-to-apply oil absorbing foundation is like instant airbrushing. Extracts of green tea, aloe, and other helpful antioxidants calm and soothe your skin. Laura Mercier HydraTint SPF 15 ($20) combines long-lasting moisture, SPF protection, and sheer natural color. In six different shades ranging from Berry Tint to Mocha Tint, this balm is formulated with mint and orange for breath-freshening flavor, ultra-emollient shea butter, grape seed oil, and green tea extract.
