Thanks to Daylight Savings Time, we’ve recently given up an hour of sleep. Though I do love the sun being out a little longer, I feel the loss of every minute of that hour. It’s one thing to feel tired, but you don’t have look tired to drive the point home. Luckily, small changes can make a big difference in your appearance.

These tweaks to your routine will give you a brighter complexion in no time:

Get Some Exercise. Take a brisk walk or go for a run. Anything you do to get your blood flowing and boost your circulation will help nourish your skin and give your complexion a nice rosy glow.

Drink Up. A thirsty bod doesn’t bode well for the look of your skin. Begin each day by drinking a large glass of water and continue sipping throughout the day to retain a healthier-looking, plumped up, younger-looking complexion. I like to squeeze a little fresh lemon juice into my water to start the day off on the right note.

Slough Your Skin. A gentle scrub will wake you and your complexion up. Exfoliate 2-3 times a week to remove dull, dead skin cells and reveal the brighter, fresher ones below. When you add  exfoliation to your skincare routine you’re encouraging cell turnover and the end result is smoother, more even-toned, healthier skin. It also helps prevent acne and diminish the look of wrinkles of fine lines and pores.

Peter Thomas Roth Strawberry Scrub Fruit Enzyme Polisher ($38) contains ingredients that are good enough to eat. Strawberry Fresh Cells™ moisturize, tone, and purify. Strawberry Puree is high in vitamin C, polyphenols, anti aging ellagic acid. Strawberry Enzyme brightens and nourishes. Finely Ground Almonds gently slough. Use on your face, chest and body to cleanse, exfoliate, refine and refresh.

Ole Henriksen Walnut Complexion Scrub ($28) boosts microcirculation, moisturizes, soothes, softens and exfoliates. It’s formulated with Korean Ginseng, Aloe Vera, Walnut {owner and Chamomile to deeply cleanses, exfoliate, purify and smooth. Simply apply to wet skin and gently massage in circular motion to slough dead dulling surface skin cells and reveal a brighter, more wide awake complexion.

Oil Up. Add a few drops of facial oil over your usual moisturizer to help repair dull, dry skin instantly.

Milk Makeup Hydrating Oil Stick ($24) has a super-cool delivery system. Boost your complexion’s hydration level by sweeping this oil infused skincare onto your bare complexion or add a subtle sheen to your look when used on top of makeup. Apricot, avocado, calendula, jojoba, and orange peel oils round out this easily absorbable hydrating stick.

Herbivore Lapis Oil Balancing Facial Oil ($72) is a super hydrating, nourishing and balancing facial oil that won’t clog pores. It has Blue Tansy to reduce redness and calm irritated skin, Amaranth Squalane to balance sebum levels and hydrate, Kukui Oil for antioxidant protection and skin balancing properties, and more. Apply and massage in up to 10 drops to cleansed and toned skin morning and night.
