Coachella, the annual music and arts festival based in Indio, California, features different genres of music, art installations and sculptures and has multiple stages for performers to do their thing. Though almost everyone goes for the entertainment, the beauty scene is off the wall with trends that you’d never dare to do as well as some keepers that you’ll want to incorporate into your spring and summer looks.
Here, 3 Coachella 2016 beauty trends that are making the rounds. Let them inspire you a little…or a lot!
Glitter. Whether you opt to keep your makeup low-key or not, a little glitter will take your look up a notch. Have fun with it and use it on your skin, lips, lids, nails or even your part.
Make Up For Ever Glitters ($15) can be used on your face, body and hair. For staying power, mix in with gloss, pat on the skin with a wet brush or spritz with water first before sprinkling on. It’s available in metallic silver, metallic white glitter, opalescent white, metallic tan glitter, metallic hot pink glitter and metallic yellow gold.
Colorful Hair. Blue, pink and tangerine are just some of the colors that have been spotted lately. Can’t make up your mind? Mix it up and incorporate more than one color into your style. If you’re not ready or interested in committing to something long term use a temporary hair color that washes out after one shampoo.
Streekers ($12) — available in pink, blue, ultra violet, red, green, yellow, orange and purple — can be worn alone or in any combo you’re feeling. To use, simply separate a small section of hair, lift it up away from scalp and apply to dry hair from root to tip or anywhere you want to want to sport it. If using more than one color wait one minute to allow it to dry before adding the next hue. When you’re ready to wash it out simply shampoo and rinse. Note: If your hair is bleached blonde you might need up to 3 shampoos to fully remove.
Braids, Knots and Buns. When it’s hot, hot, hot out you’ll want to feel as cool as possible. Getting your hair up and off your neck is the best way to do just that. Play around with different hairstyles to find your favorites. A simple bun, topknot or braid will do the trick but so will multiple baby buns, a fun look that’s trending right now.
Hairdo French Braid Band ($10) works with any style you choose to wear it with. It’s an effortless way to elevate any undo or down do and can even be wrapped around a pony for the perfect easy-to-do finishing touch.
