Choosing Health over Obesity Inspiring Change through Empowerment
For anyone who has had a lifelong struggle with obesity and found help through weight-loss surgery, Allergan has launched a LAP-BAND® System Patient Contest Program to give them a way to share their story and help others in need of support.  This program is designed to be a national platform for consumers, caregivers, advocacy groups, healthcare professionals, medical societies and Congress to create awareness of the problems of obesity and encourage treatments to be made available for everyone.
You can enter the online contest by submitting a short essay or video regarding your weight-loss experience and how losing weight has impacted your lives and health. 12 winners will be selected by an independent judging panel to travel to Washington, D.C., to hand deliver the petition to legislators. The winners will serve as a voice to urge legislators to understand the importance of access to all effective treatments.
