TripAdvisor surveyed their customers from 1-13 July and found that Brits need to pay closer attention to sun damage warnings. Despite extensive warnings about the risks of sun damage and skin cancer, British travelers are still failing to adequately protect themselves while on holiday. In a large-scale poll of over 9,000 travelers by the world’s largest travel site, 45%  said they have experienced sunburn at least once while on holiday in the last year, 20% admitting that their sunburn was severe or moderate.
The NHS recommends these tips for staying safe in the sun:
- SPF 15 or higher, but many other experts suggest SPF 30
- Wide-brimmed hat top keep sun off the face
- Good quality sunglasses to protect the eyes from UVA and UVB rays
- Reapplying sun cream every two-three hours and after swimming
