On September 18th, the 30th annual BeautyCares DreamBall took place at Gotham Hall in New York City to benefit the wonderful Look Good Feel Better® program that helps so many women coping with cancer. The annual gala is attended by about 500 beauty, fashion and media industry executives, making it the the largest fundraiser of the year for the Look Good Feel Better program.
This year’s DreamBall honorees included a short list of heavy hitters in media and beauty leadership, including Amy Robach, ABC News and Good Morning America, Correspondent, Lauren Brindley, Walgreens, Group Vice President & General Merchandise Manager for Beauty & Personal Care, Jamie Kern Lima, IT Cosmetics, Co-Founder & CEO, and Alvaro Alonso, Beiersdorf NA, General Manager North America. Heather Thomson of The Real Housewives of New York City, served as Mistress of Ceremonies, and radio personality Sharon “La Loca†Montero was the Red Carpet Host for the evening.
To date, the Look Good Feel Better® program has empowered more than 1 million women in the US alone and over 2 million women globally to reclaim their sense of confidence, self-esteem and wellbeing. The organization offers lessons on skin and nail care, cosmetics, wigs and turbans, accessories and styling to help women feel like themselves during a difficult period. If you have never participated in a LGFB initiative, I highly recommend it. It’s good for the soul to help other women who are going through something that every one of us may experience at some point in our lives, and they are so appreciative.
During October which is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, please reach into your pocketbooks to show you care by making a donation to this terrific organization that truly supports women when they need it most.
