Here, she shares her top 3 tips on what you need to know to get and keep your hair in great condition for the cooler months ahead:1) ADDRESS, PREVENT AND TREAT DRYNESS AND BREAKAGE:
Your hair might not yet be recovered from the summer months and now, certain elements like central heating, strong, cold winds and increased use of hot styling tools can add to the damage. Dry hair breaks easily and also makes it difficult, if not impossible, to grow hair longer. This is because the hair will often snap off before it reaches the desired length. To restore strength and elasticity she recommends you apply a weekly pre-shampoo conditioner, such as Philip Kingsley Elasticizer. If your hair is particularly damaged, use it twice weekly or sleep with it in. Prior to blow-drying, use a heat-protective conditioning spray, such as Philip Kingsley Daily Damage Defence Conditioning Spray.
2) SOOTHE AND TREAT A DRY OR FLAKY SCALP:
Flaky, itchy scalps become increasingly common in the colder months, due to a number of factors like dietary changes, increased stress levels and a colder climate. Apart from being annoying, dandruff is also known to trigger hair loss, so it’s important to clear it up as soon as possible. To soothe the scalp and rid it of flakes, use Philip Kingsley’s Flaky/Itchy Scalp Shampoo and Flaky/Itchy Scalp Toner daily until irritation clears.
