When I was fresh out of Barnard, I was treated to a mani at the famous Red Door Salon by a woman who I considered to be a mentor. It was a huge treat for me and started me off on a lifetime of professional beauty treatments. The iconic Elizabeth Arden Red Door on Fifth Avenue was truly THE beauty institution of it’s time for a lot of very posh women.
Fast forward to 2019 and Red Door Salon & Spa has just undergone a comprehensive modernization. Now known under the moniker Mynd Spa & Salon, the brand has a fresh and uber modern zen-like feeling, a huge departure from the original. The new menu will feature bespoke beauty and wellness services covering massage therapy, body treatments, skincare, nail care, hair, makeup, and waxing. The Mynd model is all about wellness and personalized self-care. It’s meant to be a place to switch off from your devices and chillax for some pampering and me time.
Among the signature skincare brands featured are Rodial, Delilah, Babor and Dr. Dennis Gross. Who doesn’t love those Alpha Beta Universal Daily Peel pads in the orange and white wrappers!
According to Todd Walter, CEO of Mynd, ““In a world where self-care is an increasingly vital need – where the cause-and-effect between self-care and health and wellness is so clear – we’re thrilled to offer services that have the ability to tangibly improve our guests’ lives. While proudly embracing our roots as The Red Door – more than 100 years in the spa and salon space – we’re excited by the far-reaching potential of this evolution of the brand.”
The flagship Fifth Avenue facility had a partial debut and the other 25 locations are poised to be transformed to Mynd Spa & Salons throughout 2020. So, book yourself in for some R & R STAT 844.772.MYND
