September is National Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month, October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and thanks to a small group of Australian surfers, November has been dubbed Movember, the month dedicated to raising funds and awareness for men’s health, particularly testicular and prostate cancer.
To support the movement, guys grow a Mo (slang for a moustache), and essentially become walking, talking billboards during the month of November. Now in its seventh year in the US, Movember participants (Mo Bros) start off clean-shaven, then grow and groom their Mo for the rest of the month, raising money along the way to benefit men’s health programs that combat prostate and testicular cance
Gentlemen prepare your moustaches. November is now known as Movember, the month in which men around the globe will grow a moustache in support of men’s health issues. Movember is also the name for the global charity that engages men to grow a moustache for the month of November to raise awareness and funds for men’s health issues. All funds raised in the U.S. will go to the Prostate Cancer Foundation and LiveSTRONG, the cancer support organization founded by Lance Armstrong.
