Aaron Kosins, MD, is a well known rhinoplasty surgeon, but he doesn’t want anyone to be able to pick a “Dr. Aaron Kosins” nose out of a crowd. He’s all about natural looking, subtle enhancements that fit seamlessly with a person’s facial features. “The only people who should know you had surgery on your nose are your closest friends, husband, wife, or family members,” he says.
Rhinoplasty makes up a big chunk of Kosins’ private practice in Newport Beach, Calif, but he also performs body work and some reconstructive cases through his affiliation with the University of California, Irvine. In addition, Dr. Kosins is a member of the prestigious ZO® Skin Health faculty, and pre
First came a nod for tattoo removal, and now Cynosure’s PicoSure laser has been green lighted to treat acne scars.
The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved the laser system for helping to erase acne scars in early August. This same laser revolutionized tattoo removal when it was shown to eradicate greens, blues, and other hard-to-erase inks in fewer sessions than older lasers.
In the studies that paved the way for the new acne scar indication, 77% of people treated for acne scars achieved greater than 50% improvement according to their physician. PicoSure scored a 97% physician satisfaction rate at the 1-month follow-up, and this increased to 100% at the 3-month mark. And tho

There is more to her thriving practice than preventing and treating skin cancer. Chwalek is also known for her subtle aesthetic touch with Fraxel and other lasers as well as her injectable prowess and her app
Selfies are all the rage these days and this trend shows no signs of slowing down. In fact, ensuring a #stellarselfie as you age was the theme at a recent media event held at the posh Gansevoort Park Avenue hotel in Manhattan. Hosted by Inmode Aesthetic Solutions, beauty experts discussed the role that many noninvasive technologies can, and should play, in ensuring a #stellarselfie.
“When treating aging skin, there is a role for many different treatment options—both surgical and non surgical,” says New York City plastic surgeon Alan Matarasso, MD. Put another way: Surgery may affect quantity, but non-surgical procedures address quality.
