STAR POWER – TIPS FROM THE GOLDEN GLOBE AWARDS

Posted by 01.17.12

From nude to blush and jewel toned to black, the gowns at this year’s Golden Globe Awards drew nearly as much attention as the stunning actresses wearing them. Radiant complexions, sparkling eyes and in some cases ruby lips perfectly set off the dresses and major bling that was the focus of the red carpet. Here is a look at some of our faves.

Kate Beckinsale – For Golden Globe presenter, Kate Beckinsale, makeup artist Molly Stern created a luminous look with just a touch of edginess to complement her magical and ethereal Roberto Cavalli dress. Her gorgeous look was implemented with Hourglass Cosmetics products including Veil Mineral Primer, Illusion Tinted Moisturizer, Film Noir Lash Lacquer and Visionaire Eye Shadow Duo.

Kristen Wiig – Bridesmaids star, Kristen Wiig, rocked a nude Bill Blass gown with the help of makeup artist Heba Thorisdottir. Heba used Hourglass’ new Immaculate Liquid Powder Foundation, Illume Crème to Powder Bronze Duo and Hourglass Extreme Sheen Lip Gloss in Imagine for a final touch.

Claire Danes – Sophisticated in a black and white J Mendel gown, the Best Actress award winner for Homeland made a vibrant statement with red lips thanks to several layers of Laura Mercier Crème Lip Colour in Seduction. Laura Mercier global artistry director and brand ambassador Matin Maulawizada created a modern red carpet look based on Old Hollywood glamour.

Stacy Keibler – Glorious in a red Valentino column gown and Chopard jewels, George Clooney’s lovely girlfriend sported glamorous blonde locks thanks to celebrity hairdresser and Aloxxi artistic team member, Marco Pelusi. Marco colored Stacy’s hair prior to the big night with Aloxxi Blonde Bambino.

Evan Rachel Wood – Nominated for Mildred Pierce, the young actress donned a Gucci gown set off with makeup done by artist Toby Fleischman for NARS Cosmetics. Since it was all about the dress, the makeup was kept clean and soft using items that included NARS Paramaribo Duo Eyeshadow, NARS Gaiety Blush and NARS Como Larger Than Life Lip Gloss.

Naya Rivera – Glee actress and new Proactiv spokesperson, Naya Rivera’s skin was prepped for the red carpet by makeup artist Jo Baker. The products she used were Proactiv Renewing Cleanser, Proactiv Revitalizing Toner, and Proactive Oil Free Moisture with SPF 15.
