The team at Weissmann Mehrel Dermatology utilizes conventional, Dermatological science, and combines tried and true wellness techniques with an integrative approach to skin care and anti-aging by addressing such issues as skin laxity, fine lines and wrinkles, and age spots from the inside out.

They chatted with Beauty in The Bag about looking good and feeling good.
Here’s what they had to say:
1. What are the benefits of combining the conventional world of dermatology with the wellness world?
Dr.Mehrel: Skin is our primary boundary. It separates and protects us from the outside world and its damaging elements. Emotional and Physical Wellness are reflected on our skin, and are the basis of the integrative skincare approach we provide in our office.
2. You focus on healing the skin from the inside out, please tell us more.
Dr. Mehrel: We utilize the body and skin’s inherent restorative and healing powers. Instead of destructive methods from the outside in, as traditional resurfacing techniques, via lasers or caustic peels, at Weissmann and Mehrel Dermatology, we stimulate epidermal and dermal restoration. One combination could be Radiofrequency skin tightening, The Molekül Bio-Peel® and then maintaining the results with The Molekül® Skincare line.
3. What is your signature procedure?
Dr. Mehrel: The Molekül Bio-Peel®. This epitomizes our Integrative approach to skincare. Dermatologically healthy skin from the inside out, utilizing the traditional approach of cleansing, exfoliation, moisturizing, and protection, combined with European, homeopathic ingredients for cellular stimulation, renewal and healing.
4. What are the advantages of doing a Liquid Facelift vs a surgical facelift?
Dr. Weissmann: They are not mutually exclusive and often complement each other. Volume loss can only be corrected by volume replacement. The Liquid Facelift is a non-surgical procedure with immediate results. No downtime and none of the potential complications associated with a traditional facelift.
5. What is your “go to” Molekül® skincare product and why?
Dr. Weissmann: Nopüra® body lotion, unique in its usefulness for weathered, sun damaged and easily bruised skin. And then of course our Kleänser Plus since it’s a vital part in our integrated skincare. Regardless of the indication, (Acne, Sun Damaged, Aging Skin), our Kleänsers are always part of our regimen.
6. What do you think the biggest mistake one can make when considering cosmetic surgery?
Dr. Weissmann: Pursuit of an unrealistic facial image. The satisfied patients are the ones who would like to look the way they looked 10 years ago; we undergo the appropriate procedure to achieve that goal. I avoid caving into the desire of a patient to look like someone else.
