Philosophy The Microdelivery In-Home Peel – Microdermabrasion can be a tricky thing, so I was skeptical about this DIY alternative to costly office treatments, cringing at the memory of Samantha’s raw tomato face in that tragic SATC episode.  Turns out I had nothing to worry about.  Philosophy has been active in research and development of medical microdermabrasion methods since the inception of the practice, and The Microdelivery is a dialed-down, less invasive and more affordable version of the stuff used by professionals.  The instructions are as clear as I wish my skin to be, and after reviewing them last night I parked myself in front of the bathroom sink, armed with the two step kit and ready to rock.  I started by massaging the Vitamin C/Peptide Resurfacing Crystals onto clean, dry skin to gently exfoliate.  After a minute I topped that off with the Lactic/Salicylic Acid Activating Gel, kicking the Vitamin C and peptides into gear with a gentle warming sensation.  After three minutes I rinsed my face thoroughly and followed with my typical bedtime routine.  My skin was a little flushed, but I withheld judgment until morning.

Holy wow.  What took me so long to discover this product?  Those five little minutes yielded gorgeous results.  I woke up looking well rested, with smoother, brighter skin, less visible pores and a gorgeous glow.  Is it the same as a microdermabrasion from a professional?  No, but did you catch that whole five minutes thing?  Time is my most precious commodity, and these days it’s virtually impossible for me to find time to book a treatment, go to the appointment then keep a low profile while waiting for the telltale redness to subside. Hello, five minutes before bedtime.  I can do that!

FINAL VERDICT – RDW  (RUN DON’T WALK) – I think I’m in love.  The Microdelivery Peel is perfect for busy ladies who are looking to save time and money.  It’s an ideal product to maintain skin’s appearance between scheduled treatments.  The standard one ounce kit retails for $40 while the two ounce is $65, or Nordstrom has a value size four ounce kit for $100.  Not exactly cheap, but compared to a professional microderm it’s a bargain, and when you factor in the time saved and results yielded it is a tremendous value.  The Microdelivery Peel is also available in a travel-friendly four-pack sample box for $26.
