In practice for more than 25 years, her philosophy is that she never wants her patients to look like they had “work done” – they should just look like the “best version of themselves.”
Internationally recognized for her research and work in cosmetic and medical dermatology, she offers her patients cutting-edge technology in facial rejuvenation, laser treatment and skincare and is considered among her peers, the “last stop” doctor, the one who fixes problems when others can’t.
BITB spoke with Dr. Jaliman about her passion for dermatology and trending treatments.
1. When/how did you first become interested in working in cosmetic and medical dermatology?
As a teenager, I had problems with my skin. It was super sensitive, it got irritated easily and it also broke out. Due to that, I became very interested in skin care. I then decided I wanted to become a dermatologist. When I was doing my dermatology residency, I was naturally drawn to the cosmetic aspect because of my artistic nature. I had always made jewelry when I was young. The interesting thing about medical dermatology is- it’s like being Sherlock Holmes, you can tell so much about a person from their skin. You can diagnose many diseases.
2. What treatments to do you see trending among patients in their 20s, 30s and 40s+?
In their 20’s patients tend to do light peels, facials, and microdermabrasion. Light peels are effective for exfoliating and cleaning out the pores. Medical facials are good to clean out the pores. Microdermabrasion is very effective in exfoliating dead skin cells.
In their 30’s, patients are interested in light lasers such as the Genesis Laser and the Revlite Laser. These can be done every 2 weeks, there is no downtime, and a series of around 4-6 treatments can be done. They get rid of fine lines, improve the texture and give the skin glow. The Genesis laser gets rid of excess redness. The Revlite laser gets rid of excess brown discoloration. Finally, in their 40’s, my patients come in for Botox, fillers, and skin tightening procedures such as Thermage, which uses radio frequency to tighten the neck, lower face and around the eyes.
Staying hydrated is one of the best ways to keep skin glowing. CORE Organic has plenty of antioxidants which are very beneficial to the skin. They help fight free radical damage.
3. As an ambassador for CORE Hydration, can you tell us the most important skin benefits of staying hydrated?
Staying hydrated is one of the best ways to keep skin glowing. CORE Hydration contains minerals and electrolytes, which gives it a perfect pH of 7.4, ideally matching your body’s own.
