With the recent run of 500 Schwinn Sting-Ray Lemon Peeler bikes ($349.99 each), I’m feeling kinda nostalgic. Though I didn’t have a Lemon Peeler I remember meeting up with my friends and riding around my old neighborhood in my own Schwinn for hours on end, only heading home when it started to get dark out. This limited edition is just like the original in that it features a striped banana seat, fenders, a coaster brake, spring suspension fork, Schwinn 16-inch front wheel and a 20-inch Sting-Ray Slik rear tire, plus this one comes with a numbered certificate. If you’re interested don’t delay because once they are gone, that’s it. I’m pretty sure this bright, happy-looking bike isn’t where my love of everything lemon started, but it certainly didn’t do anything to dissuade it.
I know the importance of starting every day with this fruit and drink down a full glass of lemon water each morning. When ingested, lemons promote good health and clear skin. They stimulate natural enzymes to help the liver detox and are super-high in vitamin C, an antioxidant known to fight free radicals, known to contribute to premature aging. Lemons also make the body more alkaline, so they prevent inflammation and help fight disease. They have antibacterial and antifungal properties as well and are fully embraced in the world of topical beauty products where they’re used to help even out skin tone by lightening dark spots, acne scars, and blemishes, diminishing acne and blackheads, preventing oily complexions, lightening hair, whitening yellowing nails, aromatherapy and more.
5 Lovely Lemon Products:
Neogen Dermatology Bio-Peel Gauze Peeling Lemon ($27), a chemical and manual exofoliator for twice weekly use, gets the job done through single use pads. You slip the pad on your finger and use one side to slough dead surface skin cells while alpha hydroxy acids and lemon extract penetrate your pores to clean out debris and brighten your complexion. Then, you simply swipe the opposite side of the pad to remove any left-behind debris and rinse your face with lukewarm water. Made with Lemon Fruit Extract to even out your skin tone and boost radiance and Lactic Acid to diminish fine lines and acne breakouts.
Belif Body Bomba Body Lotion In Lemon Verbena ($26) does more than provide long-lasting hydration. It will refine your skin’s texture, give you antioxidant protection and reverse the look of dull, tired-looking skin. It’s formulated with Comfrey Leaf and Lemon Verbena to soothe, nourish, refresh, brighten, protect and refine texture.
Fresh Sugar Lemon Sugarbath ($39) are natural lemon-scented bath cubes. Brown sugar heals, bicarbonate of soda gently removes dulling dead skin cells, and the fresh lemony fragrance is refreshing and uplifting. Toss a few in the tub and soak away your stress.
