KORRES MATERIA HERBA NOURISHING NIGHT CREAM - This bestseller is noteworthy for its exclusions: no parabens, sulfates, synthetic dyes, petrochemicals, phthalates, GMOs or Triclosan. The certified organic night cream relies on shea butter, sunflower, almond and jojoba oils, ginseng and ginger extracts to deliver rich hydration that’s suitable for all skin types. I love the safe, clean, organic contents and the green packaging, but at the end of the day the product needs to work, and work it does. The lightly scented, thick cream goes on easily and feels fantastic. For my sensitive, combination skin such a rich night cream can be excessive, but this one does the job without feeling heavy or greasy. This is particularly important if you’re like me and put on your night cream at 6pm (a trick I learned from an aesthetician who laughed when I told her that I skipped night cream because my dog licked my face at bedtime… you can wash your face and do your nighttime regimen as soon as you are in for the day; file under genius or duh!).
FINAL VERDICT: GGI (GOTTA GET IT) – This is a fabulous and effective product, but you pay a premium for clean and green. At $46 for a small jar it’s a bit steep, but for beauties who are committed to a chemical-free skincare regimen I could see it working beautifully in concert with budget-friendlier finds. It’s definitely among the best paraben-free products of its kind that I’ve tried.
