I had the pleasure of meeting Cindy Crawford many years ago at a photographer’s book launch featuring many photos of her and other top models, and truth be told, while she’s perfection on paper, in person she’s other-worldly! Well, clearly the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree. When it comes to inheriting great DNA in the good looks department, the Crawford-Gerber family has got it in spades.
Kaia Gerber is the spitting image of her mother and is off to a stratospheric start in the modeling world where she was just named the 2016 Breakthrough Female Model of the Year at the 2016 Daily Front Row Fashion Media Awards and was also just named as the new face of Marc Jacobs Beauty. If you take one look at her it’s easy to see why.
At the event, top tier makeup artist Hung Vanngo, who has worked on everyone from Gisele Bundchen to Rose Byrne to Julianne Moore, played up Gerber’s natural good looks with a smoky eye/nude lip combo on her using marc jacobs beauty products. Some standout ones worth noting are:
marc jacobs beauty under(cover) perfecting coconut face primer ($44), infused with five types of vitamin-rich coconut ingredients (the fruit, water, milk, polysaccharides, and extracts), will prime, nourish, hydrate, protect, blur and smooth your complexion. Apply one pump evenly over skin before applying your foundation to perfect the look of your skin and have your makeup stay put.
marc jacobs beauty remedy concealer pen ($39) is the magic wand you’ll covet whether your complexion woes are due to aging, fatigue or dehydration. It brightens, corrects, nourishes and protects thanks to advanced pigments, caffeine, collagen, vitamin extracts, and coconut water and a patented palladium applicator that cools on contact to reduce under eye puffiness.
marc jacobs beauty glow stick glistening illuminator ($42), a flattering-for-all highlighter, should be applied to the high points of your face like your cheekbones, bridge of nose, temples, chin and Cupid’s bow before gently blending with your fingers or a makeup brush. The sheer formula expertly blends pearly gold and silver pigments so that those with warm or cool complexions are equally balanced and radiant with a natural-looking, lit-from-within glow.
marc jacobs beauty le marc lip crème lipstick in no angel 242 ($30) is formulated with cocoa butter so it goes on creamy and smooth. This apricot nude shade is a modern neutral with just enough color to complement your look without taking center stage. Apply directly from the tube or use a lip brush for a more precise application. It can be worn alone, blended into the lip and worn as a stain or topped with shiny gloss for more of a statement. Available in 25 shades.
