Saturday, June 27th is National Orange Blossom Day and though the orange blossom doesn’t get the same attention as its’ fruit (the orange) does, the orange blossom is where this fruit first originates from and not-so-surprisingly, it takes center stage to those in the know.

The Orange Blossom can be found in the most delicious food and drink recipes (think Middle Eastern recipes, yummy sweet treats, cocktails, tea and more), the most gorgeous bridal bouquets and even in special beauty products for skin care, bath time, fragrance and aromatherapy.

Orange Blossom water is the byproduct from the process of the distillation of orange blossoms for Neroli Essential Oil, often used in addition to or in place of orange blossom water. Both come from the bitter orange tree and both are used extensively in the beauty world, coveted for their uplifting, calming aromatherapeutic benefits as well as its other perks.

Here, a roundup of some of our favorites ways to experience this pleasingly aromatic bloom and add a little life to your beauty routine:

Soap & Paper Factory Shea Butter Hand Cream in Neroli ($18) is extremely moisturizing, protective and lightly scented with pure orange blossom. Shea Butter has unparalleled moisturizing and healing properties so your hands will feel soft, soothed and smoothed plus you’ll love the fresh, restorative, delicate fragrance that the bloom brings forth.

Origins High-Potency Night-A-Mins Skin Refining Oil ($41), an overnight face oil will have you waking up to healthier looking, brighter, glowing skin. Apply 3-5 drops of the oil into your palms and press into skin at bedtime, the ideal time to protect against free radical damage and prep skin so it’s primed to face the day ahead. Salicylic acid and vitamins C and E will gently slough dead surface cells and the added aromatherapeutic essential oils like neroli, valerian, and vanilla will help you get a good night’s sleep.

Krigler Juicy Jasmine 30 Candle ($85) smells divine! It combines the purest Jasmine flowers with tangy Orange Blossom notes for a fragrance that’s meant to capture the feel of Provence. No matter where you reside, light it up and let it take you there!

Philosophy Living Grace Shampoo, Bath & Shower Gel ($25) is a creamy 3-in-1 multitasking cleanser and conditioner that will gently wash, condition and soften you from head to toe. Simply work it into a lather for your hair and body before rinsing clean. The uplifting, light, fresh scent of neroli, musk and lily of the valley will linger on your skin and hair so you’ll continue to reap the benefits long after it’s gone down the drain.

Vita Liberata Neroli & Argan Milk Broad Spectrum SPF 50 ($45) will protect you from the damaging UVA and UVB rays of the sun…and then some. If you’re in the market for sun protection that’s also got skin soothing, restorative qualities you’ll love the non-greasy formula. It includes Neroli Oil to help balance and rejuvenate your skin as well as Argan Oil for its hydrating, antioxidant, skin-protective benefits. You’ll also value the fact that it’s absorbed easily and even water resistant for up to eight hours.
