MEET THE BROW THERAPIST

Ramy began his career in beauty after dropping out of law school and relocating to Sydney, Australia to attend The Sydney College of Makeup Art and The Napoleon Academy of Beauty.  This career change offered Ramy the opportunity to pursue freelance work as a professional makeup artist where he traveled through Singapore and Europe and back to his hometown of New York before taking a job as a makeup artist for Bobbi Brown. After a Non-Hodgekins Lymphoma diagnosis, six months of chemotherapy and radiation treatments, and a full recovery, Ramy realized there is limited help available to the cancer patient in dealing with the physical evidence of those treatments.  Thus, the RAMY beauty therapy concept was born.

What makes RAMY a stand out brand?

RAMY is known for both our trademarked, “Minimum Makeup, Maximum Impact!” philosophy and for being theraputic and good for your skin. You know how you always wonder how that flawless makeup is acheived? I make it really fast and simple with universally flattering colors and multi-purpose products!

Tell me about the concept behind RAMY beauty therapy®?

The concept is that if you use the correct colors and formulas, you can look your most beautiful in the fastest, easiest way possible!

Who is the most naturally beautiful celebrity you’ve ever made-up?

That’s a tough question! I find that I fall in love with every face I work on, whether a celebrity or not. Every face has wonderful qualities you want to play up. I will say that Lynda Carter and Rihanna are both natural, gorgeous beauties.

What makes a perfectly shaped eyebrow?

I do! (Smile). Seriously, a perfect eyebrow is full, strong, yet has a beautiful arch that flatters both bone structure and eyes.

You’re also a formulator. Where do you get inspiration for your product and design ideas?

I get most of my ideas from my clients! When you hear the same request again and again, you realize that there is a demand that’s not being met. I do find it difficult sometimes being so innovative. It’s harder to sell a product that requires explanation – as opposed to just cranking out more lip gloss colors, for example.

What are your desert island beauty products?

My Skin Stick Concealer, Pure Water Facial Cleansing Mousse (it doesn’t require rinsing), my Lip Oils (or a lip balm) and a leave in conditioner for my hair.

What’s your favorite bag?

I have an awesome Prada bag that I love because my best friend Kyle White gave it to me, and I also love my Tumi messenger bag. I know I should say Louis Vuitton, but that’s the truth!
