If you google “baby goats in pajamas” you’ll come across a few variations of what I deem some of the cutest videos imaginable. You’ll see baby goats wearing the sweetest pjs while jumping high into the air. I fell head-over-heels in love with each and every little goat in these videos — so much so that I had to be talked down from actually adding a real live baby goat to our family. Sadly, I’ll have to get my “goat fix” another way.
Though there won’t be a new kid in the Simon clan, there will be many goat milk beauty products under our roof since this wonder ingredient has many benefits and is gentle on the skin. It can do a world of good for those with sensitive or dry skin, or those with certain skin conditions including eczema and psoriasis. It’s also beneficial for those who have healthy skin and would like to maintain that status quo.
THE BEAUTY BENEFITS OF GOAT’S MILK:
- Goat’s milk is high in Vitamin A, ideal for anti-aging. Use it regularly and expect an uptick in tissue repair and minimizing lines, wrinkles.
- Goat’s milk is rich in alpha hydroxy acids so it will slough away dead skin cells leaving your skin softer, smoother and brighter.
- Goat’s milk has loads of fat so it’s super-hydrating, anti-inflammatory and will help keep your skin well moisturized.
- Goat’s milk is nutrient dense with vitamins and minerals, a boon to nourish the skin.
- Goat’s milk has anti-bacterial properties to reduce acne and keep it at bay.
3 PERFECT PRODUCT PICKS:
Dionis Love Goat Milk Hand Cream ($7) can be applied as often as necessary for softer, smoother skin. I’m crazy about the Love cream which blends jasmine, vanilla and black currant, but you’ll also want to experience one of the many other scents like Virginia Hyancinth, Roseberry, Verbena & Cream or White Jasmine and Shea. All are incredibly rich, yet easily absorbed so your skin is immediately hydrated. It’s also available in gift sets containing 5 – 1 oz. hand creams so you or the lucky recipient never has to be without. There’s a great limited edition Summertime collection with sea and greens-inspired notes, and an Inspire collection that includes Vanilla Bean and Verbena & Cream — two more favorites of mine — in its set of five. Keep one in your bag, toss another in your desk drawer, and place one bedside so you’ve always got one at the ready.
Beekman 1802 After-the-Sun Soothing Bars ($15 for 10 travel-sized bars) are ideal for anytime use, not just for post-sun exposure. These chemical-free bars are made with goat’s milk, organic green tea extract, aloe and lavender, so they are super gentle on the skin, help control skin inflammation and promote healing, incredibly moisturizing, and will easily remove any chemical residue from sun care products.
Kate Somerville Goat Milk De-Puffing Eye Balm ($38) cools and soothes on contact. It blends goat’s milk, biologically-active milk polypeptides, Manuka honey and light diffusing pigments to soothe, moisturize, minimize puffiness, diminish the look of lines and wrinkles, nourish, and give an instant pick-me-up to tired looking eyes. Apply under or over makeup.
NOTE: The Dionis Goat Milk Hand Creams were sent complimentary for review. The Kate Somerville Eye Balm and the Beekman 1802 Soothing Bars were tested in store. All opinions are my own.
