GARNIER RADIANCE RENEWER CLEANSING GELEE REVIEW
Purchasing new makeup can be exhilarating, but when it comes to buying a cleanser, well, not so thrilling. Enter the new Garnier Radiance Renewer Cleansing Gelee ($6.99) for Dull Skin, which is not just a gel…but a super gel. Made with a special technology called cushion gel technology, it introduces a new way of cleansing that the company claims will make you feel as though your skin is being luxuriously hugged (a bit gimmicky, I mused, but once I used the gel, I knew the claim was true). The cushion gel technology is most definitely an industry first: I’ve seen anti-aging cleansing gels, exfoliating gels, micro-bead technology, but never a cushion gel.
In general, gel-textured cleansers are a perfect choice for warm weather months. This one is geared toward all skin types but is especially suited for oily/combination skin.
To use Radiance Renewer is to have clean feeling, sparkling skin without the stripping, taut effect that comes with many cleansers (except, of course, creme cleansers). Ingredients include natural brightening agents such as refreshing citrus extracts, which stimulate cell renewal. It’s an exfoliating cleanser but doesn’t feel like one thanks to non-abrasive exfoliants like hydroxy acid. The soft gel foam is very soothing to the skin and cushions it as it sloughs off dirt and impurities.
It’s also oil-free and very gentle, and, I discovered, it removes waterproof makeup. Targeted towards women who have “dull skin,” Radiance Renewer aims to reveal fresher, radiant skin over time. While I’ve tried many cleansers, including the creamy variety, I found this to be extremely pleasant smelling without any of those typical “mass cleanser” fragrances.
Garnier has also come out with the Soothing Remover Cleansing Towelettes ($5.99) for women on the go, which have calming plant extracts and vitamin E.
