The Technogym showroom in New York City.
When I received an invitation to have a session with a celebrity trainer at the first Technogym showroom in the US, I couldn’t decline. Especially with the New Year coming, and like many, one of my resolutions this year is to find a workout during the winter months that won’t bore me to death at the gym.
I arrived at the gym and was introduced to celebrity trainer, Marcus Eave, originally from South Africa who has worked with the Technogym equipment for about eight years. Marcus was eager to explain the Italian designed fitness equipment behind the new Kinesis Personal system (the equipment I was to try out). He explained how it can fit into an office or hotel room since it lines the wall. We then headed downstairs to try the device out.
Marcus went up to the Kinesis like it was a second nature and began to show me how to pull the cords and workout the muscles with the machine. Basically, you’re like a puppet and can pull the cords how ever your body will allow. You can include a fitness ball in your routine and the system offers over 200 personal exercises that provide strength, flexibility, balance and endurance. You can’t get bored!
The Kinesis Personal system costs $10,000. Luckily, it’s featured in many gyms across the US, including some New York Sports Clubs. To find a gym that features the Kinesis visit: http://www.technogym.com/us/viewdoc.asp?co_id=13
