DONNA KARAN CASHMERE MIST LUXE EDITION –  One of the reasons I rarely write about fragrance is that something gets lost in translation. One needs the linguistical abilities of an 18th century poet to truly capture the rapture of a beautiful scent. I am afraid that, like most bloggers, tweeters and facebookers, I have lost some of the tenets of expressive writing that my $100,000 Barnard education instilled in me. Alas, I digress, and will return to the matter at hand – which is to attempt to vividly describe the allure of the new Donna Karan Cashmere Mist Luxe Edition. The atomiser looks like Baccarat at first glance, with sensuous curves and cuts that mimic fine crystal. One strategically placed spritz is all you need to indulge – it is like a powerful, heady liqueur. The scent is intense and sultry, ideal for a bold, confident woman who longs to make a statement (and an entrance). It is decidedly elegant, ultra feminine and quite romantic. Go for it!

FINAL VERDICT – GGI (GOTTA GET IT) –  The only experience I have had with DK Cashmere Mist collection was happily receiving the Body Lotion as a gift many birthdays ago, and it was grand.  So if you are a fan of the original Cashmere Mist, Cashmere Mist Luxe Edition is sure to please – and at the same price point ($70 for 1.7 ozs).  Hint – this would make a beautiful holiday gift wrapped up in a cozy 2-ply sweeping cashmere shawl…
