MY VANILLA PASSION

Lush Solid Perfume in VANILLARY
I love the idea of this product – a solid perfume in a little silver tin is perfect for bringing to school to keep in my locker, and for carrying it to the gym to use after a heavy workout, and its a bargain price. However, I was a little disappointed because it doesn’t really smell like vanilla. On the bright side, it does work– it leaves a lingering scent, and the waxy texture of the fragrance doesn’t rub off on your skin so it lasts well . But it doesn’t leave me smelling like the Crumbs Cupcake Shop’s vanilla cupcakes! Maybe I set my standards too high but I LOVE vanilla scented everything and I had high hopes for LUSH since I like their Bath Bombs and Shower Jellies.
FINAL VERDICT ICW (IT CAN WAIT) - Overall, its a great idea, but I was disappointed with the lack luster aroma of this product. Perhaps the other scents, like Honey I Shrunk The Kids or Olive Branch smell better. I still think solid scents are terrific and I will definitely look out for more of these. It’s a good value for $7.95.
THE TOO FACES OF LOVE

TOO FACED LIP OF LUXURY LIPSTICK IN “FREE LOVE” – It may be the case that I have been working on the Upper East Side for too long, but this lipstick reminds of me the Juicy Couture set, who will eat it up. I had a pretty respectable collection of Too Faced eye shadows as a college student – I remember being particularly fond of a gorgeous dual eyeshadow palette that reminded me of a mermaid’s gills – but I digress. The cheeky packaging and feminine colors make the brand perfect for the teen to young adult age group, especially if you throw in a little something Juicy on the side. This light, frosty pink shade is a great starter color for a teen who may not yet be into makeup, and whom you’d like to keep your “sweet little girl” for as long as possible.
FINAL VERDICT - ICW (IT CAN WAIT) - I fear I may have outgrown lipsticks with crystal embelishments, but then again, I’m no longer the target demographic.
MILKY FRESH

GERDA SPILLMANN PEAU DE FLEURS CLEANSING MILK - Oh Gerda, how I wanted to love this product. The packaging is straight out of a European Apotheke, suggesting a heady mix of hard science and good-for-you botanicals, a few of my favorite things. The prospect of a mild cleanser suitable for all skin types and ages is wildly appealing, and this definitely does deliver. The texture is fantastic and it works well, cutting through makeup, sunblock and assorted shmutz without drying. Application is easy and effective, and goodies like avocado and jojoba oils and vitamin E work in concert to clean and moisturize.
So what’s my problem?
It is so smelly. True to its name, this stuff is mighty fleur-y, and I have been cursed with a bionic and finicky nose. I am always looking for a great cleanser, but the fragrance is simply too strong for me.
FINAL VERDICT – ICW (It Can Wait) - I’m on the fence with this one. If I wasn’t so sensitive to smell or this one appealed to me more then I would be all over this stuff. at $35 for 3.4 oz or $46.50 for 6.7 oz, it isn’t cheap, but it’s a complete workhorse with a luxe feel worthy of its pricetag. If a strong scent doesn’t put you off then give Gerda a chance.
