A total of 1,200 beauty executives gathered once again at the Waldorf Astoria in New York City to celebrate the winners of the 18th Annual CEW Beauty Insiders’ Choice Awards. From skincare to nail care, the awards, sponsored by Cosmetic Executive Women (CEW), honored the best new products of 2011. The winners were selected by votes cast by 4,500 beauty executives, all members of CEW.
Products were recognized in a total of 29 categories including cosmetics, hair care, skincare, scent and the newly added nail category, the prize for which went to Sally Hansen Salon Effects Real Nail Polish Strips.
Lancôme Visionnaire Advanced Skin Corrector, a wrinkle and skin tone treatment, received the Best Seller Award in the department store arena, while the Sally Hansen Polish Strips took the prize for products in mass (drugstore, mass retailers) distribution. The Best Seller Award recognizes products with the most growth in sales.
Altogether, the winning brands were varied with only Shiseido, L’Oréal, Fresh, Sally Hansen and Neutrogena taking home more than one award. Major brands like Estée Lauder, Clinique, Maybelline and CoverGirl were recognized, but so were smaller companies like Kate Somerville and Rita Hazan. The Indie Beauty prize went to Supergoop!, a prestige skincare line dedicated to UV protection.

Acne Treatment – Kate Somerville Skin Care 24-Hour Pimple Punisher
Anti-Aging Prestige – Shiseido Future Solution LX Ultimate Regenerating Serum
